The second highest went to students at the University of Technology, University of Goroka was third followed by Pacific Adventist University, International Training Institute and the Institute of Business Studies University. Luke said considering that children’s futures were important, what Karipe did was the right thing for the electorate and the country.
“I am happy to invest in human resource by paying school fees for students because education is the only way to chance the electorate,” Karipe said. If students go to tertiary institutions, they would bring change when they finish their studies. He said that the assistance was only for tertiary students this year but in 2024 he would include secondary schools as well depending on the district services improvement programme budget.
