![]() THE Mendi School of Nursing in the Southern Highlands will undergo a K20 million transformation. Mendi-Munihu MP Raphael Tonpi said that the transformation will be done in two parts – first the reconstruction of the infrastructure and second, the overhaul of the school administration. “This project comes under the Mendi Munihui District Development Authority’s priority to improve education in the electorate,” he said.
The Mendi Munihu DDA has put up K1.5 million, with K2 million from the Southern Highlands government and the Kumul Petroleum Holdings Ltd (KPHL) which contributed K7 million. Tonpi said with K10.5 million in hand, his team will be working hard to come up with the balance of K9.5 million to secure the completion. The Mendi School of Nursing has a tremendous reputation in the region and the country but much of its infrastructure was destroyed in the magnitude 7.5 earthquake of 2018.
