![]() Dahlia was named after her mother’s favorite flower, the Dahlia. Her mother grows Dahlias every year to decorate their Church each Sunday. Her mother’s hard work and joy in service has always inspired Dahlia. Dahlia grew up in a Christian home and feels God placed the dream of becoming a missionary pilot in her heart at six years of age. When she was 16years old, Dahlia went to a Youth Convention. When the pastor preached about getting to know the Lord as her personal Lord and Savior, she gave her life to Christ. She then understood what it meant to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, and to have that intimate relationship with Jesus. She had the pleasure of serving for a short time with YWAM Townsville in Australia as a Mission Builder. That involved cleaning the YWAM ship, loading supplies, washing dishes, and getting everything ready for the next YWAM Outreach to Papua, New Guinea.
Dahlia went to the University of Papua New Guinea and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics and Electronics. She then worked in the mining industry for 5 years. Dahlia’s interest further grew when she read, "God Planted Five Seeds". It is a book about 5 martyred New Tribes Missionaries who traveled into the Bolivian jungle to bring the gospel to the Ayore people. Dahlia is married to a wonderful husband, and has two marvelous children. She got married after her Dad passed away, and assumed the responsibility of taking care of her widowed mom, plus, her younger siblings and her own little family, as well. Dahlia did everything she could as a Christian daughter and wife. Deep down her burning passion to be a Missionary Pilot to help hurting people in remote areas didn't go away. In 2020, she saw MAF Mareeba, Australia advertise flight training for PNG students. She quickly applied and got accepted. She completed all the tests, interviews, class 1 medical check, and passed! She resigned from her mining job and was ready to go start training, but then, Covid-19 hit, so her training was postponed. In August of last year, she was ready to enroll, but, was unable to raise the finances. Dahlia said that God has used these past two years to really humble her, and to teach her to trust and be totally dependent in Him. She is now ready to go for training. She has raised K10000 PNG of the needed K28000 PNG, so far, and will continue to raise funds. Classes start August, 2023, but the funds need to be submitted, soon. She prays and believes that God will bless her fundraising, and provide in the coming months. Please consider donating toward the remaining balance of K18000 or, $5,113 USD. Donations can be made directly to MAF Mareeba for Dahlia Bire. Please fb message me for further details. Thanks, Travis Please Share, Encourage, Pray, Support. Also read Comments are closed.
