PAULIUS Nasupi received an electrical engineering national certificate (NC3) during the Port Moresby Technical College graduation last Tuesday — and was immediately offered a job. Nasupi was the first to give the correct answer to a question posed by chief guest, Remington Technology chief executive officer Peter Goodwin to more than 1,000 graduating students . The question asked by Goodwin was: ”What year was the company established in Papua New Guinea?” To which, Nasupi then called out “1948”. “I have a friend who is working with Remington Technology whom at one time during our conversation had given a brief background about the company he was working for (Remington),” he said. “From that conversation I learned that Remington was established in 1948 in the country.” Nasupi, 27, from Kagua in Southern Highlands, said that it was “a double blessing” for him.
“I achieved two things at once,” he said. “I am very happy about my new job and I am thankful to Remington Technology for the great opportunity given. “I am also willing to accept any job offered to me within the company that suits my qualification.” Nasupi also said that he would continue in his pursuit of a diploma in engineering at the college. He said that he plans on working during the day and attending classes in the evening. He added also that his aim now was to complete the diploma programme as well as to build his career with the company. The National / PNG Education News Also read Comments are closed.
