![]() PNG HIGHER Education Minister Don Polye says he has a plan to introduce online learning in the higher education sector to optimise learning opportunities for the country’s tertiary level students. Polye, who is also Sports Minister, said this during Port Moresby Technical College’s 59th graduation ceremony yesterday. “This will enhance both the students and teachers’ learning and professional careers and would help them understand the world of growing technology,” he said. Polye said that they would make technology easily accessible and user friendly on campuses nationwide.. The Kandep MP said he would also consider and address some of the challenges that students, who completed their studies, but got the jobs that required skills that they had not been adequately trained in.
Polye said PNG needed to keep up with world trends in education and technology in order to be able produce quality students capable to transition to the workforce or be able work overseas. He said they would change the style of learning in all tertiary institutions around the country in preparation for the future to be in line with the increasing use of technology. Polye said the use of technology in the higher education sector would help people from the top level down to the bottom, and people with disability to work together and not in isolation.
