![]() THE auto-suspension on May 5 will affect 15,748 teachers nationwide, Education Department secretary Dr Uke Kombra says. “The auto-suspension was earlier scheduled to take effect on April 7, but delayed due to a series of issues with the Education IT network. Not only that, but the relocation of the department headquarters to Vulupindi Haus has also slowed their work. “The entry of remaining resumption of duty summary sheets (RoDSS) is now affected, thus has been differed by two pay dates to May 5,” Kombra said. “Auto-suspension or automated suspension happens when the system (Alesco payroll) suspends teachers when their resumption of duty is not registered in the system.”
He said this was a normal process that fell around this time of the year and teacher’s should not worry too much as it would be taken care of. Kombra has called on provincial education officers to continue to help input the remaining RoDSS so teachers would not unnecessarily be affected by the auto-suspension.
