![]() IALIBU-Pangia students attending the University of Goroka (UOG) have been allocated K450,000 as school fee assistance by MP Peter O’Neill. Ialibu-Pangia Students Association president Joe Wala thanked O’Neill for providing help at such a time when parents were struggling during presentation at the university campus last week. “We, the Ialibu-Pangia students attending UOG, will make it our priority to achieve good grades and contribute equally back to our community,” he said. Ialibu-Pagia development authority (DDA) deputy chief executive officer Michael Ariando made it clear to the students that this was their share from the K2 million allocated for tertiary students. “Developing human resources in the district is the DDA and O’Neill’s priority agenda and we will continue to facilitate schools financially despite the hard and challenging financial climate,” he said. The Western Pacific University received a cheque for K46,000 last week to cover the Ialibu-Pangia students attending there. Last week, they travelled the Highlands Highway presenting a cheque for K26,000 to Chimbu Teachers College. Two other cheques for K8,000 and K6,000 were presented to the Goroka Technical College and Highlands Regional School of Nursing. Also read Comments are closed.
