![]() By Letwina Zosiringke, in Lae, Morobe Province : Kalang FM Bugandi Secondary School had a double celebration yesterday as it commemorated its 28th Grade 12 graduation and also opened its multi-purpose 8-1 classroom. The 1 million kina building was funded by the Lae City Authorithy under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister and Lae MP John Rosso. It's a state-of-the-art facility that will accommodate eight different classes all at once. The building is equipped with modern technology, comfortable seating, and all the necessary resources for an optimal learning environment. The building will house over 400 grade 12 students and teachers. The opening ceremony was a grand affair, with students, teachers, and parents coming together to witnesses the incredible milestone and official ribbon cutting of the new building.
During the ribbon cutting Rosso announced the contract of a second 8 in 1 building and new ablution blocks. The contractors are set to start work around December or January next year. He said, this is their part for improving Bughandi towards a better and prosperous future. Rosso was pleased with the principal and the school board as he assured them that they will change the school together through determination. Bugandi's Principal Dennis Miall is thankful for the initiative taken by Rosso and LCA for upgrade the facilities. He said, infrastructure is a big challenge for the school since the classrooms were all built back in the colonial days. He added that more old buildings will be demolished to make way for the new ones.
