AUSTRALIAN high commission education representative Chris Graham says the commission is looking at supporting Papua New Guinea education through more teaching partnership programmes in secondary schools. He made this remark during a recent farewell ceremony of two Australian volunteer teachers who assisted teaching in Port Moresby National School of Excellence for the past 16 weeks. “At the moment, we are looking at how we can support secondary education,” he said.
“We are not looking at huge programmes but we want to be involved in some way to support secondary schools, like the Australian Volunteering programme that has been going for years now.” Graham said he will be working with the Australian volunteers programme to increase the number of teachers and try to get specially trained teachers who are needed in secondary schools in the country.
