The Role
The Class Teacher is directly responsible to the Supervising Teacher for that grade level. The Class Teacher is also accountable to the Deputy Principal for absences, work ethic and additional duties that may been given by the Principal, the Deputy Principal or the Administrator.
Main Tasks:

• To prepare yearly, termly and daily programs and timetable.
• Prepare lesson plans that are appropriate to each student’s instructional level and engage the students in active learning.
• To undertake regular assessment of student skill level keeping detailed records of student achievement and progress.
• Structure a safe and secure class space and to ensure the wellbeing of the students in your care.
• Provide clear & consistent behavioral expectations and guidelines to manage student behavior.
• To provide written and verbal feedback to the Parents regarding student progress.
• Be a dependable member of staff, punctual and giving notice for all absences.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience:

• Must have grade12 certificate
• Must have FULL Teacher Registration
• Diploma or Degree in Teaching/ Education from a recognized institution, University or Teachers College.
• Min 3 years full time teaching experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Standards Based Educational Curriculum (Current PNG Courses).
• Knowledge and understanding skills in class management.
• Creative in implementing programs and plans for the classroom.
• Able to manage workload and complete tasks to school deadlines.
• Child oriented approach to teaching. Able to engage your students
• Able and willing to integrate Bible Based Christian Teaching into your class curriculum
• Able and willing to work as part of a team
• Current Police Clearance is a requirement.
