Good morning all, yesterday was a special day for me as I was recognised by the independent state of Papua New Guinea for services in the Aviation industry and Business. I would like to take this opportunity to dedicate my Logohu Award of CSM to everyone who were part of my life from the day I was born, my parents, my family, extended family, my community's several that I grew up in, my friends, workmates, business clients, the aviation Family, PNG as a whole and last but not the least to God. I also would like to acknowledge my people of Central Province for recognising my achievments in life, believing in me and honouring me with the highest office in the province to be their leader and Governor. My business life started when I was about six years old when I used to hire out my hand me down bicycle from my sister late Nanai Perry for 20 cents for a ride around the coconut tree in my line of sight. That then grew to a Suzuki 90cc motorcycle a beach bike with big wheels, my boss gave this to me at the Boroko car wreckers were I did part time work during my school holidays, Boroko car wreckers used to be where SP brewery is now. I then borrowed a book from the town library were Deloits tower is now, the book was on normal aspirated engines and using this got the motorcycle going. I used the bike for a good part of my high school days and on the weekends and holidays charged my elderly uncles and aunts K1.00 to pick up and drop them off at their gardens. After high school I attended my aircraft engineering studies at Pom tech and through a apprenticeship program graduated as a Aircraft maintenance engineer in 1987, I went on to work for every Helicopter company in the country and then moved overseas for further studies and work returning home in 1996 I started Helifix, short for Fix Helicopters in 1997, Helifix grew from its humble beginnings from a tool box and K400, and grew to what it is today. We at Helifix a great team of professionals both past and current have contributed to Nation building in construction work, medivacs, oil and gas support, exploration, seismic operations, police, Defence, training and everyday charter work for our everyday clients and have flown thousands of hours in all conditions with a very high safety record. Helifix continues to play its part in Nation building and will continue to do so into the future if all goes well. I have now retired from Helifix and will continue serving my people as Governor for Central Province as long as they want me to. I'M STILL TRYING TO WRITE THAT BOOK Thank you PNG and Thank you God for everything.
