KUMUL Petroleum Holdings Limited (KPHL) has taken 12 graduates as part of its 2023 graduate development programme intake, managing director Wapu Sonk says. Sonk said the graduates, eight male and four female, were from the country’s four regions who were now staff which would result in KPHL’s employees exceeding 100. “The successful candidates were selected after an intense assessment process from over 1,500 applicants and they will be placed in engineering, geology, HSE, finance and accounting positions in the company,” he said. Sonk told the graduates that they were joining the organisation at the right time, as KPHL was currently expanding its capability to participate in the upcoming LNG projects and domestic utilisation of gas. “As a partner in significant LNG projects and operator of our own licences, Kumul Petroleum has to access international finance and requires us to demonstrate the highest standards in terms of governance, environmental management and accountability.
“We expect all our employees to adhere to these standards.” Sonk said KPHL was a PNG company which aspire to grow and diversify as other national petroleum companies in the region and the input from its workforce would be needed to achieve that goal. “Kumul Petroleum also carries out a number of nation-building projects on behalf of the Government, particularly health infrastructure and training institutions, and I am sure that some of you graduates will be involved in these activities as well,” he said. “I hope that you can grow with Kumul Petroleum in the years to come, as we play a large role in the country’s petroleum and energy sectors.” TheNational/PNGEducationNews Also read Comments are closed.
