![]() TEACHERS in Hela have been warned that if they miss work for 10 consecutive days, they will be taken off the payroll. Education adviser Ronny Angu issued the warning during a visits to schools with other officials. “There are reports that dozens of teachers are not at school but attending to private matters during working days,” he said. He said some areas of the country were experiencing a big drop in education standards and the blame was put on education officials.
“Maybe we have teachers who drifted into teaching because they could not think of anything else to do,” he said. “The students’ future are of paramount importance.
