![]() By PNG Marketing Magazine Thousands turned up to join the Country’s leading retailer PNG’s leading retailer, CPL Group conducted a mass walk-in-interview last weekend (August 7-8) to hire suitable candidates to fill in various roles at their newly established Distribution Centre in Port Moresby. The two-day campaign saw thousands of people, from students to newly graduated students to professionals and unemployed individuals seeking employment opportunities. The Applicants came in from all over POM, with the common interest of working for the leading and most innovative organization in the retail space. However, the numbers were too many for the recruiters to coordinate interviews, thus to give all applicants a fair chance, all their CVs were collected on both days. CPL Group General Manager for People and Culture, Melissa Dookie said this decision was made as a result of the resources we had on the day and the number of candidates that showed up. She said it would have been a challenging task and would have made our assessment process inefficient to conduct all interviews on the day. CPL recruitment team had worked both days, Saturday and Sunday last weekend to ensure all CVs from all applicants are collected and will go through the assessment process. Melissa said they were certainly surprised by the turnout of applicants on both days. “Though it was great to see the response and the turnout, the crowd became a security and health risk for all,” said Melissa “We thank the public for their response and feel humbled by their interest in working with the CPL Group.” Next : Law Students Start Training On How To Perform In Court Comments are closed.
