The PNG Teachers Association is very disappointed with the recent pay cuts faced by its members on pay 21 last week. General Secretary Ugwalubu Mowana said the government has been unable to effectively fund the Free Education policy and now has seen fit to cut teachers’ salaries. He said if the government is unable to fund the education system, it might as well close the schools early. Mt Mowana further called on the Teaching Service Commission, the Education department and relevant line agencies to explain why these pay cuts were imposed
