THE academic performances of students in Siassi local level government (LLG) in Tewai-Siassi, Morobe, Papua New Guinea is not meeting Education Department requirements, an official says. Provincial programme adviser Keith Tangui made the statement in relation to teacher absenteeism in the area which had affected student performance for the 2022 academic year. Tangui said some schools were operating with a few teachers or in some cases the staff were not consistently attending to their responsibilities. He added that there were no inspectors on the ground to monitor and visit schools in the LLG and compile reports to the authorities regarding the issue.
“We have already arranged for two new inspectors for the 2023 academic year.” Tangui said some teachers were taking advantage of the situation. The National / PNG Education news also read >> Teachers In PNG Want 6 Percent Pay Rise Comments are closed.
