More than 800 students at Tamba Junior High School in West New Britain can now access online information, thanks to a donation of 20 laptop computers from Litehaus International. The laptops, handed over on June 18, were provided with the support of Kina Bank. Sylvia Lunga, Kina Bank’s Kimbe branch manager, emphasized the bank’s commitment to community support. “Kina Bank is not just here to provide banking and financial services, but also to support communities in improving their standard of living through areas such as education,” she said. Mosa local level government president Jimmy Ninda, who had initially requested Litehaus International’s support for the school, expressed his satisfaction with the donation. “Because we live in a world where information can now be easily accessed through computers, I had to ask Litehaus a number of times to consider my school,” he said. “I’m a very happy man because both the students and teachers can now use these computers to assist them in their studies and teaching.”
Provincial administrator Leo Mapmani urged the school to take good care of the new equipment. Litehaus International country lead Peter Raim highlighted the significance of partnerships in their mission. “Litehaus is grateful to organizations such as Kina Bank. Without them and other partners, most of the schools in the country would not have computers,” he said. The laptops come equipped with Microsoft programs and an e-library that can be accessed without an internet connection, providing valuable resources for both students and teachers. Last year, Kina Bank supported Litehaus International with a donation of K80,000, which equipped eight schools with new computers. This year, Kina Bank has committed K100,000 to further support Litehaus’s efforts. Since 2017, Litehaus International has supported 277 primary schools across 15 provinces with digital learning tools. Also read Comments are closed.
