The Teaching Service Commission (TSC) Chairman, Samson Wangihomie, has called on teachers to return to their classrooms as the third term of the school year begins today. "The Census ends on June 30, and teachers must return to teaching," Wangihomie stated. He explained that while the TSC had released teachers for national duties under the Teaching Service Act, those required to remain by the National Statistics Office (NSO) should inform their TSC advisers and respective provincial education divisions. "Teachers must ensure that they prepare work for their classes so that those remaining in the school can oversee or manage the students' education," he emphasized.
Wangihomie urged communities to report any teachers who failed to prepare lessons for students during the Census exercise to their provincial education division or the TSC. He stressed the importance of adhering to the education calendar, noting that no further changes would be made and that it was crucial for teachers to return to class to prepare students for their end-of-year exams. Additionally, Wangihomie appealed to communities to respect teachers and school property, expressing disappointment over incidents of abuse, threats, and violence against educators. "Teachers are valuable assets to their communities, given their role in educating and nurturing the next generation of workers and leaders," he reminded the public. Also read Comments are closed.
