![]() STUDENTS are parents’ investments and communities must take pride in educating their children to become their human resource in the future, MP says. Nawaeb MP Kennedy Wenge said human resource development in his district was of paramount importance and the district development authority (DDA) had been supporting education development. Wenge said this during the opening of a double classroom building at Yambo Primary School in ward six of Labuta local level government on Saturday. “The DDA has spent K200,000 on this double classroom for the newly established school,” he said.
“This will be a model school as the classrooms are built in such a way that students will be placed 1.5 metres apart in response to the Covid-19.” The double classroom has a middle section which will be converted to a library. The district authority also bought two banana boats each with a 40 horse powered outboard motor for the development of small to medium enterprises at Yambo village. Wenge said teacher housing would be addressed with the school currently accommodating teachers in bush material houses. Wenge said the DDA would start by building a house for the head teacher.
