![]() PUPILS from Nonu Primary School in the National Capital District will receive milk “stiks”, sponsored by Ilimo Milk, each day at school as part of a campaign to boost their nutrition and health and overcome malnutrition. According to a joint statement from Ilimo Milk and Kina Bank, they have teamed up to fight child undernutrition in Papua New Guinea, with the launch of a new “milk in school” programme. The programme includes a daily supply of Ilimo Frozen Milk Stiks to all 500 students at the school in Boroko, Port Moresby.
Nonu is the first school to participate in the programme. Kina’s sponsorship is K100,000. Ilimo Milk Stiks are crafted by the Ilimo Dairy Farm in Central from fresh milk and contains all the benefits of fresh milk, the company said. Studies have established a clear link between improved nutrition and better educational performance.
