PORT Moresby Business College will be offering bachelor degree programme in accounting starting in 2024, says school principal. Principal Carmela Mokulabeta in her address to the 2022 graduating students, said the school administration was hoping and expecting their accounting students to be the first in 2024 to enroll in this programme. “This is the beginning of all the good things to come.
“The land is a very big issue with us but the college will still expand to take students on board despite the issue with land,” she said She said the college was a day higher institution college and it needed assistance in terms of infrastructures as it would take on bachelor programmes. Department of National Planning and Monitoring Secretary Konny Samuel told the graduating students to remain positive, strong and committed in whatever, they did in challenging the world out there. “To build a career and your life, it is all in your hands, just have to have the right mindset, positive attitude and you can go anywhere in the world,” he said. Samuel made a commitment of K1 million to support the college’s infrastructures and said the Government was committed to young people to realise their potential and real force to change this country and urged the students not to waste their life on meaningless and unproductive activities. Department of Higher Education Research Science and Technology (DHERST) acting secretary Dr Francis Hualupmomi committed K800,000 for the college’s housing project. Hualupmomi said all colleges including Port Moresby Business college were under DHERST as of May last year.
