TRACY Eae bagged three awards to claim overall dux during Port Moresby Business College’s graduation recently. Eae, a business accounting student, received gold medal as dux for diploma in accounting, special awards as best student in accounting sponsored by Certified Practicing Accounting and Principle’s award sponsored by Koli Security Services. “All those sleepless nights, commitment and work have payed off,” Eae said. “My dad always encourages to me study smarter, manage time well, set priorities right and take my education seriously because this is my life, and I took that advice seriously.
“Being the eldest in the family, I had always wanted to set a good example for my younger siblings and this was why I had to study a little smarter,” she added. She said she was happy for setting the benchmark for her younger siblings and also for making her parents proud. Eae hoped to continue her education until she reached her dream of becoming a top accountant in the country. “I have sent in my application to the University of Papua New Guinea and the results are not out yet so I am waiting patiently,” she said. Meanwhile, Department National Planning and Monitoring secretary Koney Samuel, who was the guest speaker, told the students it would be months and years to get a job, but they had to think big, be positive always and choose a path that would create a legacy for them.
