The Marape Government will soon introduce a revised Education Policy and expansion program, to address unemployment, law and order problems and youth engagement. Prime Minister James Marape announced the Government's plan for the sector in a statement recently. Mr. Marape said the Government is aware of the main issues affecting the sector, and is working to revitalize it. He said this will ensure all students go to Grade 12 and over, creating pathways which can support them in life, and away from illegal and lawless activities.
Mr. Marape said the current problems the country is currently faced with, is a result of inaction by previous governments, in addressing the increasing youth population, who are being pushed out from Grades 8, 10 and 12 every year.
