By Julius Jethro Motivation "Peterson gives hope and challenges the governments to make priorities right. He is a real hero to those who are disabled and thinks there is no way out. This is Peterson Mathius, he is from Enga Province. He completed his year 12 at Wabag Secondary school in 2014. He dreamed to be a medical doctor. He got offered and did his science foundation at the University of Papua New Guinea. He did well there, he was one of those smart students. He applied for Medical school and was selected among the finest. But due to his disability, the mission to his dream got shifted. The medical work involves a lot of mobility and physical efforts, which posed an impossibility for him. For a person with special needs to pursue a dream, a carrier is one of the challenges in this country. And that reality confronted him, there were no advanced machines to aid him in his studies and for his long life carrier. Thus he was requested again to switch to the school of law. Which best suits his condition. And with no doubt, he did. Peterson is an extraordinary figure, one of the guys who believes in possibilities. Despite his disability, he didn't make it as an excuse, he saw life beyond his disability. We attended Wabag secondary school together, he was a charm, calm and peaceful young man. He works hard and smart, no room for laziness, no excuse, he was one of those who humbly beats the odds. He has these beautiful smiles with a strong spirit of determination. And he strives for a better future, common equality and normal life. If one could see through it all, he believes in humanity, a life of service to others, to serve people with special needs and others alike. But this time through the judiciary professionals. There is always a way out when one dreams to pursue it. Peterson is a real hero, a testimony to those who are disabled and thinks there is no way out. If he can do it, anyone can do it too. Only if family and government provide an environment and support where it needing. Big gratitude to those who believed in him and supported him all through the way. Beating the negativity, impossibility, naysayers, failed systems and environmental challenges, crisis, hard life, toughest choice, regrets, hidden fears and silence pain. Mr Mathius graduated today as a lawyer with colours shining far and wide, giving hope to thousands, that nothing is impossible. If you have a will, there will be a path to walk. He is our new lawyer. It's a great challenge now for the government to create an equal environment for our citizens with special needs, where we leave no one alone and they too can contribute and benefits freely and equally. Policymakers and developers need to consider such citizens in their policies and development plans. Congratulations Peterson. A lawyer with the lion's attitude and Eagle's sights".
