AN all-girls school of excellence is ready to be built in Gobo village, upper Jimi in Jiwaka. First assistant secretary, inspections, Annemarie Kona was on site last week during the school’s site assessment tour and expressed immense satisfaction with the way the new infrastructures were taking shape to accommodate the all-girls school. Kona was impressed with how work on the establishment was progressing and was confident the girls would be well-educated. She also gave the approval for the establishment to start enrollment next year. The all-girls school of excellence would automatically come under the Department of Higher Education Research Science and Technology.
Jimi MP Wake Goi said Jimi DDA was fully supportive of the project and committed K15 million towards the project. “I am appealing to everyone living along the corridors of the Jimi road from Banz to Karap and all the way to Olna, Wara Mants and Gobo to ensure smooth flow of contractors moving machines and building materials into the school yard and for work to go on,” he said. Goi said having a national institution in such geographical settings would bring good roads and services into remote settings. Guidance officer John Kui said the project was slowly emerging as it had the full support from the Jiwaka education board. The National / PNG Education news Also read Comments are closed.
