![]() PAPUA New Guinea’s partnership with the Singapore Aviation Academy is to provide a high standard of training for the country’s aviators, Air Niugini chairman Karl Yalo says. Speaking at the purchase agreement signing between Airbus and Air Niugini yesterday, Yalo said the aviation academy project represented Air Niugini’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of aviation professionals. “The academy aims to provide world-class training and development opportunities, ensuring a continuous supply of highly skilled professionals into PNG’s aviation sector and beyond,” Yalo explained. Yalo said the airline appreciated the support of Airbus for connecting the national carrier with Singapore Aviation Academy.
“This collaboration will bring global expertise and advanced learning resources to the Air Niugini Learning Academy, enhancing the quality of education and training we provide.” Yalo said Airbus had taken Air Niugini representatives to Singapore to see the training and facilities offered at the academy which followed an advanced aviation learning syllabus. “This initiative is one of the ways we are striving in to empower our youths and contribute to the growth of the aviation sector.” Yalo extended the airline’s appreciation to Airbus Asia-Pacific president Anand Stanley. The partnership is expected to see the advancements in aviation training standards for Air Niugini’s technical crew, cabin crew and ground staff.
