The Department of Education has confirmed that 32, 841 students from 188 Secondary Schools including private and permitted schools and 6 National High Schools in the country have been nominated to sit for the examinations this year. The Grade 12 students nationwide will sit for their Written Expression examination on Monday 17 August, 2020. The end of the year objective examinations are scheduled for November this year. Meanwhile, four thousand seven hundred grade twelve students and six hundred teachers in the nation's capital together with those in Central Province will benefit from face masks and infra-red thermometers, during the Grade 12 written expression examinations on Monday 17th August. The Department of Education received this donation of 20,000 face masks and 200 pieces of infra-red thermometers from City Pharmacy Limited early this week. Assistant Secretary for the Information Communication Technology Division Thomas Podarua thanked CPL for this donation. Mr. Podarua said that the Measurement Services Division has started distributing the face masks and thermometers to secondary schools. CPL's Wholesale Pharmacy Manager Sayeekishore Damodaran said the company is happy to supply these equipment to the Department and that its outlets are strategically located in the provinces to do likewise.
