![]() Students and teachers in the nation’s capital are required to wear face mask as schools reopen on Monday. The decision by the National Pandemic Response Controller David Manning comes following a surge in coronavirus cases in the National Capital District. But Education Secretary Dr. Uke Kombra said the requirement does not apply to students below the age of 12. “As per the COVID19 measures by the controller, it is mandatory that every student above the age of 12 wear masks when going to school.” Schools now have the responsibility to ensure students and teachers adhere to the requirement, said Dr. Uke Kombra. “It is the responsibility of every school principal, head teachers and board members to make sure students and teachers wear face masks.” Meanwhile, grade 12’s nationwide will sit the Written Expression examination on Monday 17 August.
