Fame doesnt always translate to fortune especially in Papua New Guine where most athletes after illustratious sporting careers end up with nothing. That is not the case with Wira Wama, the Papua New Guinean soccer star who last represented Papua New Guinea in the 2016 OFC Nations Cup before returning back to USA to complete his studies. Wama graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Digital Media Marketing from Maranatha Baptist University in Watertown, Wisconsin, setting himself up for a big future ahead in lucrative digital marketing field. “It was a good feeling accomplishing something apart from football, especially a degree in education,” Wama said. “I never thought I would come this far but I can only say that God is so gracious, merciful and faithful to me.” Through discipline, commitment and patient has brought him this far to achieve his dream. “I would say all dream, success and compliments are vanity if you do not have Christ as your lord and personal savior.” “So, accept Christ in your life and continue from there by seeking his will, plan and purpose for your life and he will fulfill the desires of your heart,” added Wama Wama is now involved as the assistant coach for the Maranatha Baptist University women’s soccer team and will train with Milwaukee Bavarian FC, one of the best soccer club in Wisconsin state in US Premier League this summer.
