![]() The Women Doctors Association has taken a no-tolerance approach to gender-based violence and sexual harassment experienced at the University of Papua New Guinea. This follows recent reports circulating on mainstream and social media in relation to sexual harassment incident at the University's Main Waigani Campus. Women Doctors Association President Lynda Sirigoi says the university should be a safe and healthy learning environment for all students regardless of their gender. ''Female students should have the freedom to be themselves, to live and study on campus without fear of being harassed or bullied in any form.
''As mothers and women, it is a real concern to learn that young men today lack the respect, social skills and values that are required of them to be part of higher learning institutions, a diverse learning community and society at large,'' said Sirigoi. Meanwhile, the association is planning a meet with the University Council to discuss ways to address the increasing lawlessness on Campus.
