![]() By BILL K. LATA Every war is fought through battles. Collective results of individual fighters decide the final victory or defeat in a war. When we fight a war, the first thought we always have in mind is that there is no guarantee that we will win all the battles. Nevertheless, we are determined that the collective victorious battles by every fighter will outnumber the collective defeated battles, and thus we became winners of the war. These attitudes always bring value to the rationale surrounding the fight. In the war against “No Jab No Job” policy implementation by the private sector, Unitech ignited the first battle and took the case by the horn but was hard-hit with an uppercut blow on the nose. Our petition was unsatisfactorily responded to! All of PM Marape’s responses to the case on point are “ambiguous and unclear” giving breathing space to the private sector, and seemingly the government is taking some PREMEDITATED STEPS TO SERVE A FOREIGN AGENDA IN OUR LAND! Today if they can give breathing space to the private sector to ultimately implement their agenda, tomorrow it won’t be a surprise for me if they take a calculated step onto the public sector, and eventually to the ordinary citizens.
Unitech has punched below the weight in the first battle, but is re-strategizing and contemplating another yet smart move to take this battle to a higher orbit of fighting ground! Remember that when one falls in a battle, it only raises the strength, revives the courage, reminds you of the reason why you started the fight and determination to make his fall be for something greater leads the battle mind. It is now the Unitech’s war-cry to ignite fighting-spirit in the hearts of our soldiers in UPNG, UOG, DWU, Workers Union, Trade Union, NGOs, Church Groups, Activists and any other right-thinking patriotic PNGeans to take up the fight! There’s no better time than this time, and there’s no better group of citizens than you all to take up this call of fight. But if we remain hesitant and fail to take up our collective call of battles that are at our disposal, we will surely lose the war against preserving our rights in the face of Covid19. And when we fall in this war, PNG’s hope and courage will fall with us. The vibe to push for one more step forward will cease. Enemies will take pride in our weakness, increase control over our silence, rule over our defeats and have authority over our very own constitutional rights!
