THE University of Goroka (UOG) is looking to extend degree programmes to the provinces for more people to have a chance to acquire tertiary qualifications, vice-chancellor Dr Teng Waninga says. Dr Waninga said this in Mt Hagen yesterday while attending the UOG Highlands open campus’ fourth graduation. He said the university had the vision to educate more Papua New Guineans offering degree programmes at its regional campuses.
The graduation saw a total of 53 students graduate with a bachelor of education in school management. Dr Waninga said the graduates had the desire to pursue their studies and UOG had provided them the means and opportunity to do that. “The gown that you are wearing will one day be seen at the village level because we are helping to reach out to help and promote education,” he said. “This programme helps many people who have the desire and strong faith that they can earn a degree back at home.” Dr Waninga commended Highlands open campus director Hugo Kop and his staff for the effort in staging the graduation. read related news on >> Study in PNG website The National / PNG Education News Next : Delay In Release Of Government Subsidies Affecting Schools Operations Comments are closed.
