The University of Goroka has announced the fee Structure for 2022 academic year. These fees apply to
INFORMATION FOR CONTINUING STUDENTS • 2021 OutstandingTuition Fees MUST be settled together with paymentsof75% Fee component for 2022 before a student can fully register for 2022 Academic Year. This includes the category of students with unsuccessful HELP Loan application status in 2021. 12. FEE PAYMENT METHOD • All Category of students are required to pay 75% of 2022 Tuition Fees component by Thursday, 3rd February 2022 before Registration. • Students (Candidates) who completed Grade12 AFTER 2012areeligibleand may apply for HELP Loan in 2022. It is a pre requisite to present a valid NID Card with other supporting documents before applying for HELP Loan. • Students are eligible for HELP Loan Scheme are allowed to apply for 25% of the Annual Fee required. • Fully fee paying students will be allowed to access Hall of Residence at the Campus. Priority will be given to National Government TESAS recipients and Corporate Sponsored students. NOTE: i ALL 2022 Tuition Fees are to be paid through EFTPOS Machines made available at the University Bursary Office during Orientation and Registration Week in 2022. Students and sponsors are also encouraged to pay fees through bank deposits by 3rd February 2022. ii Fraud Cases in Fee Payments will be dealt with swiftly by Police. 13. 2022 ACCEPTANCE LIST FOR SCHOOL LEAVERS AND NON SCHOOL LEAVERS AND OTHERS: The selection list for 2022 can be accessed on the UoG website: www.unigoroka.ac.pg. The Acceptance Letters from the University will soon reach you in time before the 2022 Academic year. Please make necessary arrangements as soon as you confirm your name on the University Acceptance list. 14. ORIENTATION & REGISTRATION: Orientation and Registration for All New Students will be from the 07th -08th February, 2022. Registration for All Students will be from the 07th to the 20th February 2022 and will be conducted in Schools and Institute. Late Registration will be from 21st February to 4th March 2022. A fee of K200 will be charged for the late registration. All students are required to complete the payment of their 75% fee components before the Registration date. 15. TRAVEL PLAN Self -Sponsored Students: Your travel fares to and from the University will be met by yourself and / or your private sponsors. Sponsored Students: Your travel fares to and from the University will be paid by your sponsor. Those on Department of Higher Education, Research Science and Technology sponsorship will not be allowed any excess baggage above the normal allowance of 16kgs. As of Saturday 29th January 2022, the University Bus will meet all incoming flights from the airport. If you arrive after 4:00 pm, telephone the Security Office on Phone No. 531 1775 or 531 1750 for pick up. 16. IMPORTANT DATES: 29th January– 6th February, 2022 Students start to arrive on campus. 3rd February, 2022 Deadline for payment. 7th – 13th February, 2022 Orientation/Registration for all new intakes 14th -20th February 2022 Registration for Continuing Students 21st February to 4th March 2022 Late Registration Closes [Late Fee of K200.00] 21st February 2022 Semester One Lectures Commence THE COURSE: The Course runs from 7th February to 2nd December 2022. The Academic Year is divided into two semesters of thirteen weeks each. There are Study Breaks in the middle of each semester and a vacation between semesters. A copy of the University Calendar will be given to you on arrival. Professional Experience takes place from 27th July to 13th September, 2022 for all students except for Pre-Service Years 1, 2 & 3, Bachelor of Education In-service Years 1&2, Year 1 Diploma and Postgraduate students. 17. ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS: The Halls of Residence allow for two students to share a room. Rooms are equipped with Individual beds with mattresses, wardrobes, study tables, chairs and study lights. On arrival, students who are successful in obtaining a room on campus are issued with a Temporary ID card to access the Dining Hall for meal and a room key which must be kept and returned at the end of the year. You will need to bring blankets and pillows with you, or money to buy them in town. Goroka is in the high altitude area and you may need two blankets to keep you warm at night. Youshould naturally bring enough clothing with you to last a year including warm clothing. NOTE: Board and Lodging on campus will be made available strictly to School Leavers and continuing Pre-service Students under government sponsor [AES & HECAS], who pay up the fullor75%of there quired fees. All debts and outstanding fees for Continuing Students from 2021 must be settled in full beforecommencing2022academicyearplus75%feefor2022andtobepaidin FULL before registration. Students failing to meet the above requirement will be denied registration. Students under the government sponsor [AES & HECAS] and opt to live off campus AUTOMATICALLY forfeit their boarding and lodging entitlements. 18. OFF CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION: All Non TESAS students, (Pre-service, In-service, PVTE, PGDE, Midwifery & Postgraduates) are required to secure their own accommodation Off Campus. Exceptions are made for those PGDE and Midwifery students sponsored by DFAT. REFUND OF EXCESS FEES Effective 2022, the University will cease the practice of refunding excess tuition fees to students. All Excess Tuition Fees for Continuing Students will be carried forward to the next academic year. Corporate Sponsors are advised to pay their funds to concerned students’ bank accounts the full amount or make a cheque payable to University of Goroka TUITION FEE ACCOUNT. 20.
