TSC to take tough actions on School Principals, head teachers over Misuse of Government TFF funds1/24/2022
TEACHING Service Commission (TSC) will be tough on principals and head teachers if they misuse the Government’s tuition fee free (TFF) funds, an official says. Commission chairman Samson Wangihomie, speaking yesterday during a radio talkback show, appealed to the principals and head masters to use the TFF funds transparently and account for its use. “The head teachers must manage this money, these are public money they are to manage them transparently and every toea that was paid must be accounted for,” he said. “We have been getting allegations for head teachers misusing and mismanaging those monies and we will come down hard on them, because we have zero tolerance on corruption.” Wangihomie said the projects fees and agency fees that were paid to the schools were public monies so he appealed to the school administrations to manage them transparently.
He said no students were to be turned backed if they don’t pay any fees, if the principals and head teachers do, that was automatically in subornation to authority and Government’s policy. “If any one does that, we will get the school in spectator to hold them accountable and that is the last thing that we want to do,” he said. Wangihomie commended the teachers for being flexible over the last two years to ensure the Coronavirus (Covid-19) “Niupela Pasin” was observed in all schools and ensured students learning went well and the successful completion of examinations.
