PNG’s best academic performing schools were awarded by the Education Department on December 7th. The awards were given out by Education Secretary, Dr Uke Kombra, to the principals of the respective schools in Port Moresby. The secretary’s awards are given out to recognize the students and schools that perform highly during an academic year. “A few years ago we have decided that we must recognize the students and schools that are performing and are working very hard,” stated Dr Kombra. “This is the third year running that we are going to recognize the schools that have been working very hard to achieve better results for the students. “This year we have removed the best improved schools and just increased the number of best performing schools to 20. “In addition, we have placed national high schools (NHS) in their own category. It was because secondary schools felt it was unfair to include NHS with them because NHS pick the top cream of students from their schools,” Kombra explained. The three categories that were awarded were: Top 20 Grade 10 schools, Top 20 Grade 12 secondary schools and Top Grade 12 National High Schools. Top 20 Grade 10 schools (in no apparent order)
Top 20 Grade 12 schools (in no apparent order)
Meanwhile, the Grade 12 national examination results were released and are now online on the Department of Education website: pngdoeexamresults2018.com Comments are closed.
