A TEENAGE student who was preparing to continue into Grade 7 when classes start next week was hacked to death and her body dumped in a bush last week by a man, police say.
Ialibu police station commander Inspector Mack Hanema said Elizabeth Kipa, 17, was allegedly killed by a father of six at Ialibu, Southern Highlands, last Wednesday as she was making her way through a bush track. Her body was discovered by relatives on Thursday. Kipa, from Mambi village, had completed Grade 6 last year and was supposed to continue into Grade 7 this year at Pale Primary School. The man was arrested by Kagua police at his wife’s village. Mambi councillor Moses Kapa, from Kipa’s village, and Mendo councillor Moses Epe, from the suspect’s village, managed to have him arrested. Police said Kipa was walking alone from her village through the Siwitame bush track to Kirene village when the man confronted her. Kipa’s relative Siro Yoko said the man had tried to rob and rape her but she yelled out for help. She was chopped twice on her neck and her body dumped in the bush. Kapa and Epe have urged the people from the two villages to keep the peace. The National
