The Morobe Provincial Education Division will be making be restrictions on teacher’s postings for 2017, of which the process has already begun since last week.
Provincial Program Advisor (PPA) Mr. Keith Jiram says the Morobe Education Division will not be taking in any new graduates from the teachers colleges around the country reason being that a good number of graduates in the past have been producing fake documents.

“We have evidence of graduates coming up with, fake certificates, fake references, fake matriculation certificates and references, forging signatures...” says Mr. Jiram.
“They rob the system and that is some way of compromising with the system, which has seen the quality and standard of education falling in the country” he further added.
“I’m taking that stand and any new graduates that we consider for next year’s posting will be dealt with individually” says Mr. Jiram to which he further stated that those graduates considered will be thoroughly screened by the office of the inspectors and recommended.
A further screening process will then be made by the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) to verify validity of produced documents by graduates.

“We are doing the screening now to restore confidence and to upgrade and improve standard and raise quality of education” Mr. Jiram said.
Mr. Jiram also made mention that teachers from other centres who wish to be transferred to Morobe must have genuine reasons for transfer in order to be considered.
Furthermore, he advised that resigned teachers wanting to resume teaching duties must consult with the TSC to obtain an approval notice, because the division will only consider their application given that they present the approval notice from the TSC.

Mr. Jiram says teachers in the province are likely to remain, however the Provincial Education Board (PEB) will make the final decision on teachers postings.  PNGFM
