Teachers from the Ela Murray and St. Joseph International schools, in the nation's capital, are the first in the education sector to receive the COVID-19 AztraZeneca vaccines. National Control Centre Incident Manager Dr. Daoni Esorom told NBC's Talk back show, this begins the roll out of vaccinations for these group of frontliners. ''Other government schools, hotels and airline staff will also be vaccinted as fronliners. ''This will be followed by people with other comorbidities such as TB, diabeties and others as they are vulneralbe to the virus ,''said Dr Esorom.
Dr. Esorom has meantime, highlighted the need to learn to live with COVID-19, making particular reference to schools resumption. He says, alot of people are questioning the decision to re-open schools, however, he adds people must understand that closing schools amidst the pandemic will only impact further on student learning. Dr. Esorom called for schools to coordinate with the Department of Education, in enforcing mask wearing and social distancing among others.
