![]() Teachers whilst at home are encouraged to prepare extra lessons and assessment work like tests to recover the four weeks lost during the State of Emergency (SOE) period. The Education Department is asking teachers to also complete assessment work, Term 1, 2, 3 and 4 programmes and lesson plans, students’ record cards or even do their own research to advance their subject competency.
The department claims that the above strategies will not provide for every student, especially students in remote locations and those who have no access to or afford ICT equipment. Thus, the department will look into new ideas and strategies to address this challenge. The department will also advice schools and the public if there will be new term dates, holidays and other critical events like examinations for students. All schools will be advised of any change by 27th of April, 2020 and also the details of strategies on how the four weeks of suspension will be recovered.
