THE MOROBE education board met on Monday, deliberated on the fate of three principals suspended last month on official corruption and mismanagement allegations and received related investigation reports. Board acting adviser Keith Tangui said the suspended principals were Tony Gau from Bugandi Secondary School, Dusty Imaita from Salamaua High School and Chris Nani from Menyamya Secondary School. “Their fate will be made known after deliberations on the disciplinary committee report,” he said.
“For Salamaua High and Menyamya Secondary, investigations were conducted following requests from Huon-Gulf and Menyamya MPs. “For Bugandi, it was based on allegations of official corruption, gross mismanagement, lack of financial reports, no board of governing council members, deteriorating school infrastructure, three school bursars, misuse and misappropriation of funds and other related allegations regarding the operation of the school. “This case is very serious so it took the disciplinary committee almost a week to complete the investigation,” Tangui said.
