TOURISM, Arts and Culture Minister and Kokopo MP Emil Tammur told Our Lady of Sacred Heart (OLSH) Vunapope Secondary School students that education is their life and they should guard it well.
A total of 378 students received their grades 10 and 12 certificates, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.

He told the students that it was a special day that they have been working hard towards and a time of joy and emotion, especially when reflecting back at the times of hardships being encountered throughout the years in school.
“Education is your life, guard it well and be mindful of the people who have invested so much on you to be in school,” Tammur said.
He challenged those who would continue on to other institutions next year to do their best for their family, province and the country as a whole.
Tammur made a promise to support the school in the next four years of his term in office.
He asked the school administration to forward to him their five year development plan for the school. School captain Miriam Kuaimba encouraged the students to keep their heads up.
“My grade 12 sisters, do not feel discouraged if you do not secure a place in an institution next year.
“There are many other ways of fulfilling your personal dreams in life.” Kuaimba received the grade 12 science dux award, Lina Uratun received the grade 12 Humanities dux award and Margaret Matan walked away with the Business dux award. The National/PNGEducationNews
