![]() DIVINE Word University president Prof Fr Phil Gibbs has advised students to inform the registrar in advance of late arrivals. “We might accept late registrations, but students must first inform the registrar if they would not be travelling into Madang by this week,” he said. “They should provide details of their flights for a later date. “Some students, especially those under the higher education contribution assistance scheme have been affected and have not been able to travel into Madang last week for registrations this week.” Registration at the university started yesterday and will end on Friday. Gibbs said the Higher Education Research Science and Technology Department payment to Air Niugini was delayed, but, the payments were made last week. “Hopefully, students will be able to book flights on Monday afternoon or Tuesday,” he said.
Department acting secretary Dr Francis Hualupmomi also confirmed that a cheque of K3 million had been made on Friday to Air Niugini for tertiary students’ airfares. “Students under scholarships should receive their tickets this week,” he said.
