THE Simbu Provincial Government has moved further ahead to launch a first Electronic School Library and EQTV in one of its rural primary schools in Kerowagi district.
Governor Noah Kool cut the ribbon to open the library and switched on EQTV at Amdi Primary School. This now paves way for teachers and students to have internet access. “Simbu is disadvantaged with no natural resource development projects but relies heavily on its human capital,” Kool said. “My povincial government is giving top priority in developing the province’s human resources and that opening of such electronic library and EQTV gives us a new edge in out endeavour to develop our human resource.” He acknowledged the provincial government for funding the establishment of EQTV and library with the support from the provincial government. Deputy Governor James Kendeyagl said the EQTV was a multimedia aid accessing worldwide and electronic library, which is also complemented with a new computer laboratory for the students which paved the way for access to the internet library. He was impressed with the project being the first to be set up in his local ward council area through the education programme under the Upper/Lower Koronigle local level government grant at the cost of K60,000. School board chairman John Kamn said with such facilities, students would get quality education and he was really happy and thankful.
