![]() Prime Minister James Marape has announced that provinces that closed their schools for the two weeks lock-down will now resume classes on Monday 17th August, 2020. These includes all government schools, private schools and tertiary institutions. The Prime Minister has directed all schools to prepare for the resumption after two weeks lock down. The Departments of Education and Higher Education have also been advised to adjust the academic calendar to catch up on lessons. Meantime, Lockdown in the nation’s capital will be lifted on Wednesday 12 August as the country adjusts to living with COVID-19. The Prime Minister has urged all communities to adapt to covid-19 and follow basic measures to combat the pandemic. He said people must take this pandemic seriously and work towards decreasing the cases. The Education Department will soon release a statement on the resumption of schools in NCD.
