![]() THE Teaching Service Commission (TSC) has achieved a lot since its establishment and it is developing and growing, Education secretary Dr Uke Kombra says. He said this during the launch of the teachers information management system (Tims) online data base yesterday in Port Moresby. Dr Kombra said Tims would improve TSC as an organisation. “Thank you for taking the leadership to ensure we have implement the one-person, one-pay, one-position (3Ps),” he said. “That has started in National Capital District and we will roll that out to all the provinces.
“You (TSC) are also working on recognising our teachers by identify teachers who are working very hard in our education system to look at an award system for our teachers so I commend you for that as well.” Dr Kombra said the TSC had streamlined the teacher payment system which would allow teacher pay to be efficiently processed. “What it means is that when the education secretary gives registration certificates or provisional certificates to a teacher that teacher will automatically go into the payroll, rather than go to another process of admission so I commend you for making that,” he said. Dr Kombra said the other determination which was a relief to many teachers was the approval of training positions in the education system. He encouraged TSC to continue new interventions to improve its management of teachers across the country.
