![]() Papua New Guinea EDUCATION Minister Jimmy Uguro says the auto-suspension of a teacher’s pay happens when he or she incorrectly fills in the resumption of duty form at the start of an academic year. He said thousands of teachers around the nation were put off the payroll during the annual auto-suspension exercise. “Teachers know this process. “There should be one person, one pay and one position (PPP),” he said.
“If position numbers and (other) information are not filled in properly, the payroll system automatically detects the error and puts the teachers off the payroll. “Those (teachers) affected (should) report to appropriate authorities, complete the forms and resubmit (them) for restoration (of pay).” He earlier told The National that the auto-suspension would come into force in March or April each year if the resumption of duty forms had not been received by the pay office. Last May, out of the 65,000 teachers around the country, 10,000 were put on auto-suspension “Teachers and provinces should comply with the requirements at the beginning of each year,” Uguro said. “No teacher should give excuses.” The National / PNG Education News Next : Hela School Closed Following Attack On Police Personnel Comments are closed.
