Schools Fees Approved by the Government that schools should collect are stated below. 6. GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY AND PARENTAL CONTRIBUTION Given the budget allocation, the State Contribution component will be 62% of the total NEB Maximum School Fee Limit cost and parents will pay 38%. The actual unit fees to be paid by the state and parents based on the 62/38 sharing model for each student per sector will be as follows: Below is Project fee cost.So the question is, how much fees should parents pay for 2021 academic year?
This is important question needs to be clarified and we will do so below. Lets say, a parent is paying fees for his child attending Upper secondary school. How much will he pay? Well the government says, they are paying 62% while parents will pay 32%. What does this mean? If the boarding fee of a particular school, for example is K1 749, then the Government will pay the 62% which is K1086 , the rest will be paid by the parents which is at 38 % that is K663. but if the school imposes K200 project fee, then the parent is likely to pay: K663 + K200 = K863 * Note: This is for boarding fee. The parent may also pay agency fees, if the child is attending agency school. NOTE: The Government DID NOT honour its commitments fully by paying the last two quarters of the 63% subsidy last year and many schools were affected and closed early.
