A TOTAL of 32,058 Grade 12 students from 220 secondary schools sat the Written Expression Examination yesterday. There were also students from six national schools of excellence, plus private and permitted schools. Education secretary Dr Uke Kombra hoped that the examination was conducted fairly and free of malpractices and cheating from students and teachers. The marking of the written expression papers is scheduled for Aug 20 to 26. He also urged Grade 12 students to study and prepare for the upcoming national exams in October.
Meanwhile, Morobe’s Huon Gulf still has no secondary school in its three local level governments, according to MP Jason Peter. Peter said the highest level school was the Salamaua (provincial) high school at Kela, near the Salamaua station. Meanwhile, Morobe Governor Luther Wenge said he was considering shifting the location of Salamaua High School to either Bula or to Asini where the new Salamaua Town and LLG chamber will be relocated.
