![]() THE University of PNG (UPNG) will maintain its compulsory fee of K2,939 for students this year, public relations and event management director James Robins says. He said one of the university’s main priorities in 2021 would be to keep the campus Covid-19-free. “Our priority is to keep the campus, new and continuing students, and residential and non-residential students, free of the Covid-19 symptoms,” Robins said. According to UPNG website, the compulsory fees for undergraduate and postgraduate PNG citizens, Pacific Islands and other international students, including dependents of UPNG expatriate staff would remain the same as last year. Students at the Waigani main campus can pay the compulsory fee of K2,939 while students at the Taurama campus would pay K3,029 for health science, K3,183 nursing, and oral health and medical science students would continue to pay K3,271.
However, this does not include residential service charges, administrative and student representative council fees, which are additional fees. Robins said the tuition and accommodation fees for residential students at the Waigani and Taurama campuses were also unchanged. The accommodation fees for residential students sharing the basic twin share at the Waigani campus is K8,562, while a single room is at K9,885, and single or double with ensuite is K11,072 while the Games Village (twin share) is K12,000. At the Taurama campus, basic twin share accommodation is K10,247, its single room is at K11,632 and single or double with en suite is at K12,861.
