![]() The Morobe Provincial government funded Education Infrastructures Program is a visionary policy that aims to avoid a bottleneck of students as they progress from Early Childhood to Primary and into High and Secondary stages of education. This policy has seen the Morobe Provincial government finance infrastructural development at all of Morobe’s secondary schools to the tune of K12 million in 2021. Morobe Governor Ginson Saonu says the Morobe Provincial government funded Education Infrastructures Program enables the high and secondary schools to be able to absorb the number of students progressing from primary education.
Under this program, Busu Secondary has built a new male ablution block, an upper secondary science laboratory and two duplex from its staff. Lae Secondary, also has built a multi-purpose Hall and is undergoing a facelift. Malahang Technical Secondary has built a 4in1 classroom while the Emmanuel Lutheran Study Centre has fully fenced it’s campus and also maintained its buildings. Bugandi Secondary has commenced fencing it’s campus and started to build two ablution blocks and a science laboratory. Buang High school has built two classrooms whilst Nawaeb High school built two staff houses. Ragianpum Adventist high school has built a 4in1 classroom whilst the Markham Technical Vocational Education Training centre, formerly the Umi Technical school built two staff houses and upgraded it’s power supply grid from single phase to double phase. Markham Valley Secondary school built seven staff houses, one school clinic and purchased a rotary tiller to plough land to grow vegetables for its school mess. Wawin National school of excellence built a duplex for its staff whilst Bumayong Lutheran Secondary fenced it’s campus and built one staff house. Salamaua high school began maintenance on most of its classrooms and faculty buildings while Menyamya Secondary built classrooms. Governor Saonu has assured those schools that the Morobe Provincial government will again fund infrastructural development this year as another K12 million has been budgeted for and will be paid by the final quarter of this year.
